🚨 Arsenal hit with devastating Gabriel injury blow .

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal will face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals with their backs against the wall. And they'll have to do so without Gabriel, arguably their finest defender. After picking up an injury in their 2-1 Premier League win over Fulham last time out, Gunners fans have received the news they feared. According to the club's official report, the Brazilian international has sustained a hamstring injury that will necessitate surgery. "Gabi will undergo a surgical repair procedure to his hamstring in the coming days, and immediately begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, with the aim to be ready for the start of next season," the news release stated. "Everyone at the club will be fully focused on supporting Gabi to ensure he is back to full fitness as soon as possible." The club has already experienced numerous injuries this season, including Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Ødegaard, Ricardo Calaf...

Julian Nagelsmann praises Jamal Musiala.

Jamal Musiala scored and assisted in Germany's 5-1 victory over Scotland in the opening game of Euro 2024 in Munich. When he was substituted, the 21-year-old earned a standing ovation, and he praised Germany's head coach, Julian Nagelsmann.

"When you see Jamal, you don't need to tell him what to do; he can just do it. He played really well today. "He had enormous influence," Nagelsmann told ZDF.

Happy for Musiala. Nagelsmann continued: "He missed a lot of chances in Qatar [at the 2022 World Cup], but now he has scored a great goal and played a very, very good game."

In the run-up to the tournament, there were doubts about Florian Wirtz and Musiala's ability to play together, but those doubts were answered against Scotland. However, 21-year-olds had an outstanding game alongside Ilkay Gündogan, each of whom performed admirably behind Kai Havertz.

Nagelsmann also praised Germany's performance against Scotland: "The first 20 minutes were fantastic, with a lot of strength. That was very helpful to us. We remained concentrated right till the end."

Thierry Henry was denied a joyful homecoming as France was defeated by gold medal winners Spain.

Exactly 36 years after Vinnie Jones, Dave Beasant, Lawrie Sanchez, and others ripped up the rulebook to propel Bobby Gould's Wimbledon to a storied FA Cup victory, Thierry Henry's France fell agonisingly short of capturing an emotional Olympic gold medal in front of a sold-out Parc des Princes in Paris. Henry, who gave his young French team the nickname the 'Crazy Ones' due to their fun-loving nature, won nearly everything as a player, and despite the stars appearing to align for a historic gold medal on home turf, the Arsenal legend was overshadowed by Santi Denia's slick Spaniards in a dramatic 5-3 extra-time defeat. Sergio Camello of Rayo Vallecano was their unexpected late nemesis, dunking French goalkeeper Guillaume Restes with 100 minutes on the clock to startle a stunned capacity crowd. And he delivered a virtual carbon copy of that finish with the game's final kick, charging in on goal as the French flung bodies forward to slot past Restes and cruelly ...
