Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has been given a two-match ban by the FA, which he will serve while injured.


The Football Association has issued a two-game ban to Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha after he was charged for his role in a clash during the defeat to Ipswich Town.

With both clubs fighting for relegation this season, a tense encounter concluded 2-1 to the Suffolk side following a stoppage time goal, with Wolves' Rayan Ait-Nouri receiving a red card shortly after full time and Gary O'Neil finally being fired as head coach.

But the drama didn't end with the final whistle, as Cunha was embroiled in a scuffle between the two teams, making contact with an Ipswich staff member with his elbow and forcing his spectacles off his face.

As a result of his misconduct and inappropriate behavior, the Brazilian has been suspended for two games, missing Wolves' Premier League encounter against Nottingham Forest and their FA Cup third round match against Bristol City. Cunha admitted the charges.

However, he was charged on December 17th, following the match on December 14th, and has since played and scored in the win over Leicester, helped his side overcome Manchester United, and featured until half-time in the weekend tie with Tottenham.
