The Southampton manager is furious at the contentious Liverpool penalty call.

Ivan Juric, manager of Southampton, feels Liverpool should have been given a penalty in the second half of their 3-1 loss at Anfield on Saturday. Will Smallbone gave the Saints an unexpected lead in stoppage time of the first half, but Darin Nunez quickly erased the lead. Mo Salah scored two penalty penalties in the second half to give Liverpool the victory, but Juric thought the first one was unfair. There didn't appear to be much in the area as Smallbone and Nunez collided, but referee Lewis Smith gave the penalty. Juric, the Southampton manager, is furious at Liverpool's penalty call. "They responded quite well," Juric said to BBC Sport. "We had some excellent first-half situations. The match was altered, in my opinion, by the [first] penalty, which was not a penalty. I'm happy with the way we performed today. "This can never be a punishment. Since it was 1-1 and somewhat altered the outcome, I apologize for what happened. Many of our yo...

Five reasons you should watch Serie A this weekend.

Inter and Napoli are separated by a whisker at the top of the Serie A table following their 1-1 draw last weekend. Both teams have 17 wins after 27 matches, but the Nerazzurri lead the standings by one point.

Juventus could gain vital ground if Atalanta wins.

On Sunday, fourth-placed Juventus will host third-placed Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium, with a lot at stake for both sides.

Despite having already exited the Champions League, Thiago Motta's side has put together a strong domestic run, winning each of their last five games, the last time they did so in January 2023.

However, the Bianconeri have been prone to drawing matches this season, with 13 stalemates in 27 games in 2024/25, more than any other team in the league.

Atalanta has also been putting in some strong defensive performances recently, keeping a clean sheet in four straight Serie A games for the first time since 2000.

Khéphren Thuram is in top form for Juventus, having scored two goals in his last two games. He has already set his personal best for most goal involvements while playing in Europe's top five leagues, with three goals and four assists.

If Juve wins this one, they will be level on points with La Dea in third place.

Who will win in Turin?

Which Fiorentina will play against Napoli?

Fiorentina has had an eventful season thus far, with midfielder Edoardo Bove suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch, manager Raffaele Palladino's mother passing away on the morning of the game against Bologna, and Moise Kean being hospitalized after a serious head injury.

Whether as a direct result or not, the team's results have been all over the place, with victories over Inter, Lazio, Milan, Roma, and a draw with Juventus, as well as losses to Como, Verona, and Udinese.

And, after losing 3-0 to Napoli in Florence earlier this season, it appears that it may be a good time to face the Partenopei again.

For the first time in history, a team managed by Antonio Conte has gone five consecutive matches without a win in Europe's top five leagues, drawing against Roma, Udinese, Lazio, and Inter, as well as losing 2-1 to minnows Como.

Could La Viola make it six?

Could controversial Milan duo be dropped again?

It was back in August when former Milan boss Paulo Fonseca dropped Théo Hernandez and Rafael Leão following a public spat with the pair.

"I spoke with them, and they understood," the Portuguese boss stated. "I need to make decisions for the benefit of the team. "If we want to win, we must work together."

Fonseca has been replaced by Sérgio Conceição, but the controversy continues.

Hernandez's sending off against Feyenoord in the Champions League has angered Milan fans. Conceição may drop the pair for this weekend's match against Lecce, as reported.

The Rossoneri have lost three straight league games since their painful exit from Europe, leaving the manager with no choice but to try something new.

Can Conceição turn things around?

Will Dybala be 'untamed' against Empoli?

This season, Paulo Dybala has six goals and three assists in the league, making it one of his least productive seasons in the Italian top flight.

But that didn't stop manager Claudio Ranieri from highlighting his strengths in a press conference earlier this week.

"Everyone has to run and fight, and he has to have fun," the experienced tactician declared. "Champions like him should not be tamed, but rather supported and given a lot of balls in. "He has wonderful vision."

Following their Europa League Round of 16 match against Athletic Club at home on Thursday, the Giallorossi travel to Empoli on Sunday for domestic action, with Dybala scoring five goals in 13 meetings with their Tuscan opponents.

Will he become 'untamed' this weekend?

Record breaking Lautaro set his sights on Monza.

While Napoli faces a difficult challenge against Fiorentina, Inter face an opponent who, on paper, should be easier to beat.

With 60 goals scored, Simone Inzaghi's team leads the league, while only Hellas Verona and Parma have conceded more than Monza (45).

Argentine star Lautaro Martínez recently became the club's all-time top scorer in the Champions League and has five goals in his last five appearances against Monza. Will he add to this season's tally?

Thierry Henry was denied a joyful homecoming as France was defeated by gold medal winners Spain.

Exactly 36 years after Vinnie Jones, Dave Beasant, Lawrie Sanchez, and others ripped up the rulebook to propel Bobby Gould's Wimbledon to a storied FA Cup victory, Thierry Henry's France fell agonisingly short of capturing an emotional Olympic gold medal in front of a sold-out Parc des Princes in Paris. Henry, who gave his young French team the nickname the 'Crazy Ones' due to their fun-loving nature, won nearly everything as a player, and despite the stars appearing to align for a historic gold medal on home turf, the Arsenal legend was overshadowed by Santi Denia's slick Spaniards in a dramatic 5-3 extra-time defeat. Sergio Camello of Rayo Vallecano was their unexpected late nemesis, dunking French goalkeeper Guillaume Restes with 100 minutes on the clock to startle a stunned capacity crowd. And he delivered a virtual carbon copy of that finish with the game's final kick, charging in on goal as the French flung bodies forward to slot past Restes and cruelly ...
