Marseille has reached an agreement with Manchester United to buy Mason Greenwood.

According to the Athletic's David Ornstein, the prospective move is still subject to the 22-year-old's agreement, although the clubs have agreed on a cost of €31.6 million (£26.7 million).

The agreement will cost the Ligue 1 club €27.6 million (£23.3 million) in fixed fees and €4 million (£3.4 million) in add-ons. United will also receive a significant portion of any future sales.

Greenwood has not played for the Old Trafford club since his arrest in January 2022 on major criminal charges, all of which he rejected. The UK Crown Prosecution Service dropped the case against him in February of last year, but the United leadership has decided that he will not return to Manchester.

The former England international spent last season on loan at Getafe, scoring 10 goals in 36 games, and has since sparked interest from clubs around Europe.

However, it appears like the attacker is set to join Marseille, where he will work under former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi.
