Paris Saint-Germain are likely to strengthen significantly in midfield this summer. Gabriel Moscardo is already in first-team training alongside his new teammates. João Neves, who is slated to arrive for large money from Benfica, is expected to join them soon. However, exits are required to make room for the incoming signings in an already crowded midfield. One appears to be imminent. Renato Sanches has struggled to stay fit since joining PSG from Lille OSC and is expected to join Benfica as part of the deal that will see Neves transfer to Parc des Princes.
Manchester United remains interested in Manuel Ugarte, but no agreement has been reached between the two clubs. Carlos Soler is another leading possibility to go. The Spain international has been a marginal player for Les Parisiens since joining two years ago, and he will be free to go if PSG receives an attractive offer. In January, Aston Villa expressed interest in Soler, as did Brighton and Hove Albion. The latter are still interested and have inquired about a prospective move, and West Ham United have joined the race to capture the midfielder, according to L'Équipe. Soler's contract with PSG lasts until 2027.
