The 19-year-old Spanish U21 international made club history by winning the first goal for the home team, sending supporters into a frenzy.

Following Roberto Galia's strike against Bologna in 1981, Diao's goal made him the youngest foreign player to ever score a Serie A goal for the team and the youngest to do so in the previous forty-odd years.
