Real Madrid's Luka Modric has made an unexpected decision to become a minority owner of Swansea.

Croatian midfielder's player career will not be hampered by the ownership shift. Unexpected decision: Luka Modric has taken his first move into football ownership. Luka Modric, a Real Madrid legend, is set to become a new minority owner of Swansea City. The Croatian, who turns 40 in September, is acquiring a non-controlling interest in the Welsh club. Modric's stake purchase will have no impact on his playing career, as he will continue to play for Real Madrid. He is out of contract with Loc Blancos this summer, but he wants to retire with Real and may extend his stay at the Bernabeu for another year if an agreement can be reached. It comes as a surprise that he has opted to buy a minority share in Swansea, who are currently 12th in the Championship. The move shows Modric, the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, is setting the groundwork for his post-playing career. Swansea's eight-year ownership by Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan ended in November when they sold their co...

Thomas Muller confirms his exit from Bayern Munich.

The future of Thomas Muller at Bayern Munich has dominated German sports media headlines in recent days. The German forward was reportedly not given a new contract as the club seeks to balance its accounts ahead of a critical summer transfer window. Furthermore, the recent contract extensions for Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, and Jamal Musiala have dramatically increased the squad's wage expenditure.

Following Friday's Bundesliga victory over Augsburg, Thomas Muller clarified his future plans on Saturday. The 35-year-old German attacker has revealed that he would leave Bayern after 25 years.

Muller said in the statement that he would have preferred to stay with the club for another season. However, Bayern's plans were not to grant him a new contract.

Die Roten have extended Muller's contract until July to ensure his participation in the Club World Cup. Muller will receive a testimonial match, and Bayern will undoubtedly have elaborate plans for his farewell.

The German attacker has had remarkable success with Bayern. Muller has won 33 trophies with the club since his senior debut in 2008. He has flourished under several coaches during his time at Bayern. Muller was instrumental in the two treble victories (2013, 2020). Despite playing less this season, Muller always stood up when Vincent Kompany needed him on the pitch.

Thomas Muller could move to the MLS.

Muller had previously stated that he intends to play at the highest level at least until 2025. He is not anticipated to retire from the game this summer. According to Bild, Muller will most likely play in the MLS starting next season.

The German forward will have numerous offers in Europe since he still has the fitness and quality to compete at the highest level. However, it appears that he may not play for another team in Europe.

The Bavarian faithful will be dissatisfied with how Muller's contract situation has been handled in recent weeks. However, they would like to see him finish his illustrious career at Bayern with three trophies: the Bundesliga, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup.

Bayern will have to replace Muller in the transfer market. Bayern Munich are extremely interested in Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz. The young German star clearly has the potential to surpass Muller at Die Roten. If Die Roten fail to sign Wirtz this summer, Paul Wanner may see action with the first team beginning next season.

Thierry Henry was denied a joyful homecoming as France was defeated by gold medal winners Spain.

Exactly 36 years after Vinnie Jones, Dave Beasant, Lawrie Sanchez, and others ripped up the rulebook to propel Bobby Gould's Wimbledon to a storied FA Cup victory, Thierry Henry's France fell agonisingly short of capturing an emotional Olympic gold medal in front of a sold-out Parc des Princes in Paris. Henry, who gave his young French team the nickname the 'Crazy Ones' due to their fun-loving nature, won nearly everything as a player, and despite the stars appearing to align for a historic gold medal on home turf, the Arsenal legend was overshadowed by Santi Denia's slick Spaniards in a dramatic 5-3 extra-time defeat. Sergio Camello of Rayo Vallecano was their unexpected late nemesis, dunking French goalkeeper Guillaume Restes with 100 minutes on the clock to startle a stunned capacity crowd. And he delivered a virtual carbon copy of that finish with the game's final kick, charging in on goal as the French flung bodies forward to slot past Restes and cruelly ...
