Nico Williams vs. Dani Olmo: Who is the new Barcelona signing favourite?

A new favourite is emerging in La Liga leaders Barcelona's hunt of a marquee attacking acquisition this summer. That's according to Diario Sport, which reported on Monday on the latest news from Catalonia's capital.

It is general known at this time that, as part of their continuous efforts to strengthen the frontline of new head coach Hansi Flick, Barcelona officials have long selected two key objectives. The individuals in question are Nico Williams and Dani Olmo. To this point, the former has long been regarded as the favourite to make his way to the Camp Nou, thanks to his preferred characteristics by the Blaugrana staff.

However, in recent days, there has been rumors that Nico may decide to stay with Athletic Club for another season. As a result, the aforementioned Sport believe it is becoming increasingly likely that RB Leipzig standout Olmo will eventually join Hansi Flick's squad. 'The Leipzig player wants to wear the Barça shirt no matter what, and Barça is beginning to regard an arrangement with the German club as more plausible than signing the Athletic winger.'

As a result, Deco and his board of directors are increasingly focused on securing a deal for Olmo at the earliest possible opportunity.

Barcelona dealt enormous injury blow ahead of Inter and Real Madrid clashes.

In a heartbreaking evening, Barcelona came back from two goals down against Inter in the Champions League semi-final first leg. The Blaugrana will believe they should have won the game after losing twice from set pieces. Now they're calculating the expense. After only 42 minutes, French defender Jules Kounde collapsed on the pitch, clutching the back of his calf. He had to be replaced by Eric Garcia, who performed admirably as a right-back out of position. Kounde's injury has raised concerns ahead of a number of critical games. Kounde will be tested on Thursday, but it appears that he has a muscle problem, most likely more serious than a grade tear. According to Sport, Kounde will miss their La Liga match against Real Valladolid, their Champions League return leg in Milan against Inter, and their decisive Clasico against Real Madrid the following weekend. Kounde was seen limping as he exited the stadium, telling the cameras, 'We'll see tomorrow'.
