5 hot fixtures to watch this weekend 🌶

After a brief hiatus for the first international break of the season, we're back with the top picks for football fans to watch this weekend.

Here are our five must-see games.

Birmingham versus Wrexham

Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney believes his team's Monday night clash with big-spending Birmingham City will be a 'absolute banger'.

Rob McElhenney can't wait to see Tom Brady when Wrexham head to Birmingham next Monday... 👀
Who's coming out on top? 🤔

Despite their League One status, the two teams have sparked widespread attention, thanks to celebrity owners and significant investment. After recording the ownership journey of actor McElhenney and Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds, the 'Welcome to Wrexham' docuseries has elevated a modest Welsh town to the forefront of American attention.

Tom Brady, an NFL icon, is on the Birmingham board, and the Blues have broken transfer records since their relegation last season. Birmingham spent more than £20 million on new players, including the £15 million signing of Jay Stansfield from Fulham.

Girona vs Barcelona

Girona stirred things up in Spain last season, finishing in the top three and qualifying for the Champions League. In only their fourth season in La Liga, the Catalans emerged as the closest contenders to Spanish football's top two, and they surely bruised the noses of their legendary rivals.

Last season, Girona won both league games against Barcelona 4-2, despite the fact that their great team has since disbanded. Barcelona, on the other hand, has started the season on fire, winning 7-0 over Valladolid before the international break.

Leeds United versus Burnley

Championship promotion candidates. Leeds and Burnley face off at Elland Road on Saturday lunchtime, with both teams in the mix at the top of the league. Leeds have risen to fourth place after a shaky start with straight draws.

Burnley started strong, but have since dropped points in their last two games. Scott Parker's team, on the other hand, is currently tied for the most points in the Championship.

Leeds will start as small favourites, having gone unbeaten in their last five encounters against Burnley.

Real Sociedad versus Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will not want to lose any more ground to Barcelona, since a gap has already formed between the champions and their everlasting rivals. Carlo Ancelotti's side has drawn two of their opening four games and faces a difficult journey to San Sebastien.

Sociedad, on the other hand, has had a difficult start as La Real looks to replace Mikel Merino and Robin Le Normand, probably their most significant players, who left in the summer. Defeat would mean Sociedad's fourth consecutive league loss in front of their home fans, but Real Madrid can not expect a walkover.

Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi, Takefusa Kubo, and Mikel Oyarzabal have the potential to bother the champs.

Tottenham vs Arsenal.

All eyes will be on North London on Sunday, when Tottenham and Arsenal clash in a local derby. Clashes between these teams have frequently had a significant impact on their respective fortunes in recent seasons, as both teams strive to compete at the top of the league.

Arsenal will be missing both Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard for the North London Derby.

Each is hoping to rebound from bad results before the break, and matches between them are rarely disappointing. Arsenal, on the other hand, is dealing with injuries, with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard both certain to miss time. Spurs will scent blood.

Given the animosity and evenness of previous matches, the NLD is probably the Premier League's must-see game.

How Arsenal Women's New Signings Will Transform Their Squad for the 2026 Season.

Arsenal Women’s summer signings — Ona Batlle, Georgia Stanway, Selina Cerci and Géraldine Reuteler — form a deceptively simple quartet that together reshapes the spine, balance and attacking identity of the squad for 2026; each arrival supplies a distinct, high-level trait (defensive certainty and wide overloads, midfield control and chance creation, clinical finishing and movement, mixed forward-mid flexibility) that, when combined with Arsenal’s existing core, makes the team tactically deeper, more dynamic and more resilient. Ona Batlle: fullback intelligence and attacking width Ona Batlle arrives as more than a right-back replacement; she’s the archetype of the modern inverted/fullback hybrid who marries elite defensive fundamentals with creative, overlapping and inverted movements that destabilise opposition structures. From Barcelona she brings high-level positional intelligence learned in possession-heavy systems: timing of attacks down the flank, the ability to underlap or inver...

Confirmed Galáctico Signings: How Mourinho's New Era at Real Madrid Begins.

Real Madrid have never been a club that quietly enters a new era. Every major shift in their history arrives with drama, expectation, and a transfer window that immediately tells the story. This summer feels no different. The return of José Mourinho has not only reintroduced one of football’s most polarizing and brilliant managers to the Bernabéu stage, it has also signaled a subtle but important change in how Real Madrid think about power, balance, and identity. The old instinct to chase glamour for its own sake is still part of the club’s DNA, but Mourinho’s influence suggests a more controlled, more functional, and perhaps more ruthless kind of ambition. The confirmed arrivals already point toward a project built on structure rather than spectacle alone. Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries, Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva have already been tied to the rebuild, while the club continues to look at further reinforcement in midfield and defense. That matters because this is not a scatter...

The most intriguing Euro 2024 quarter-final ties are listed.

It seems like only a few days ago when fans around the continent sat down to watch Germany thrash Scotland in the opening match, but the quarter-final stage of Euro 2024 is already just around the corner. This summer's tournament has delivered amazing moments and some significant scalps, but none of the competition's minnows have made it to the last eight. Instead, Europe's major boys have all advanced, with the exception of incumbent champions Italy, who were eliminated in the final 16. Not all of the continent's titans have realized their full potential in Germany, but if they want to raise the Henri Delaunay Cup on July 14, they must rediscover their mojo soon. Here are the four quarter-final ties of Euro 2024, evaluated by how entertaining they will be to watch. 4. England vs Switzerland England is the least exciting team to watch at Euro 2024. Gareth Southgate's side has been very poor, especially considering the talent available. There has been little to sug...

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will deliver football with one of its most captivating confrontations, a match that transcends tactics and statistics to become a philosophical battle between two utterly contrasting approaches to the beautiful game. When France meets Morocco, the world will witness not merely a clash of nations but a confrontation between the relentless attacking prowess of Les Bleus and the unyielding defensive solidity of the Atlas Lions.
