5 spicy fixtures to watch this weekend 🌶.

Five of the most exciting football games to watch this weekend, including derbies in Sheffield, Turin, and London, as well as a major clash in Portugal.

Sheffield United versus Sheffield Wednesday.

Following Sheffield United's relegation from the Premier League, the Steel City Derby will return to the English football calendar this season. Chris Wilder's team has recovered well from that defeat to sit second in the Championship, with automatic promotion as their goal.

Sheffield Wednesday will aim to throw a spanner in the works of their fierce rivals, despite a mixed season that has included big wins and crushing defeats. Which version of Danny Rohl's side appears remains to be seen, although a stunning victory over Norwich last time out has increased optimism. The Owls will want to be hooting full-time.

Juventus versus Torino

The Derby della Mole continues the local grudge match tradition.

Juventus are one of only three unbeaten clubs in Europe's top five leagues, but Thiago Motta's draw experts have dropped to sixth after six draws.

Torino, on the other hand, is in disarray after losing five of their last six games. Il Toro has suffered a drastic decline in form after going five games unbeaten to begin the season.

Benfica versus Porto

When Portugal's most renowned clubs meet in O Clássico, it's usually an entertaining spectacle.

This weekend's match is critical for both teams, as Benfica and Porto attempt to keep pace with Sporting Lisbon at the top. Sporting boasts a perfect record after ten games, but Ruben Amorim's impending departure may provide confidence to the chasing pair.

Benfica will be out for vengeance after a 5-0 thrashing at Porto in March, the latter's joint-largest victory in this game.

Liverpool versus Aston Villa

Liverpool is going from strength to strength under Arne Slot, with a 4-0 demolition of Bayer Leverkusen their best result ever.

Leading the Premier League and Champions League, it's been a perfect start for the Dutchman, who will seek to keep his team in first place. This weekend's visitors are Aston Villa, a team that has recently upset the status quo. However, Unai Emery's squad has suffered three consecutive defeats in all competitions.

Chelsea vs. Arsenal

Chelsea and Arsenal have been competing for capital dominance for two decades and appear evenly matched ahead of this weekend's London Derby.

Arsenal enters the match following two consecutive defeats to Newcastle and Inter Milan, and the Gunners cannot afford to fall further behind in the title chase.

Chelsea, meanwhile, is level on points with Arsenal in the Premier League, but have a goal difference advantage over its crosstown rivals. Their clash at Stamford Bridge will be a good test of both teams' credentials this season.

Thierry Henry was denied a joyful homecoming as France was defeated by gold medal winners Spain.

Exactly 36 years after Vinnie Jones, Dave Beasant, Lawrie Sanchez, and others ripped up the rulebook to propel Bobby Gould's Wimbledon to a storied FA Cup victory, Thierry Henry's France fell agonisingly short of capturing an emotional Olympic gold medal in front of a sold-out Parc des Princes in Paris. Henry, who gave his young French team the nickname the 'Crazy Ones' due to their fun-loving nature, won nearly everything as a player, and despite the stars appearing to align for a historic gold medal on home turf, the Arsenal legend was overshadowed by Santi Denia's slick Spaniards in a dramatic 5-3 extra-time defeat. Sergio Camello of Rayo Vallecano was their unexpected late nemesis, dunking French goalkeeper Guillaume Restes with 100 minutes on the clock to startle a stunned capacity crowd. And he delivered a virtual carbon copy of that finish with the game's final kick, charging in on goal as the French flung bodies forward to slot past Restes and cruelly
