David Moyes has returned to Everton more than 11 years after leaving for Manchester United, succeeding Sean Dyche, who was fired by the club.

Moyes began his managerial career with Preston and worked wonders, taking over a struggling side and transforming them into Division Two (now League One) champions, then reaching the First Division (now Championship) play-off final, but missing out on promotion to the Premier League after losing to Bolton.

Manager of the year at Everton.

Moyes took over Everton in 2002 and led them to safety before finishing seventh in the Premier League in his first full season in charge, earning the LMA Manager of the Year title for Everton's significant improvement from the previous season.

We just avoided relegation.

However, Everton regressed the following season, finishing 17th in the Premier League under Moyes. However, the club's board would stand behind their boss, a choice that would pay off.

Qualification for the Champions League.

In the 2004-05 season, Moyes exceeded even the most optimistic Everton fans' expectations by leading the club to fourth place in the Premier League and qualification for the Champions League.

Consistent performance in the top half, as well as FA Cup runners-up.

After a period of inconsistency in which the team alternated between the top and bottom of the league from season to season, Moyes established consistency with Everton, leading them to six consecutive top-half finishes from 2006 to 2012. They also made it to the FA Cup final in 2009, defeating Manchester United in the semi-finals but lost to Chelsea at Wembley.

After 11-and-a-half years at Everton, Moyes was chosen to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United manager.

Unfortunately, Moyes' tenure at the club lasted only 10 months, as he was fired after a poor season that saw the team finish seventh in the league.

Moyes' next job was a huge change, as he moved to Spain to take over Real Sociedad. Unfortunately, it did not work out, and he lasted only a year before being fired after a terrible start to the season.

Relegation from Sunderland.

He returned to the Premier League with Sunderland in 2016, but had a difficult time with the club, supervising relegation to the Championship before leaving.

Keeping West Ham up.

Moyes would have another shot in the Premier League, though, when he was handed a short-term deal to try to keep West Ham in the top tier despite the fact that the club was in relegation trouble at the time he was recruited. Although he completed the mission and left, his association with the club did not end there.

West Ham United set a Premier League record for points.

After keeping them up when he returned to the club, Moyes led the Hammers to a club record Premier League points total of 65 and qualification for the Europa League.

Europa League semi-finals and Conference League qualifying.

Moyes then led the club to the Europa League semi-finals, where they lost to eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt. They also finished seventh in the Premier League, advancing to the Europa Conference League.

Winning the Conference League.

Despite a dismal Premier League season, Moyes led West Ham to the Conference League title by defeating Fiorentina in the final, maybe his career high.

Return to Everton.
