For the remaining FA Cup matches this season, VAR will be utilized.

In addition to the semi-finals and final itself, the Football Association said on Monday that the method will be implemented starting with this weekend's quarterfinals.

Earlier this month, Premier League stadiums saw fifth-round matches where English football's governing body used semi-automated offside technology.

"Video assistant referees (VAR) will be utilized across all of the remaining fixtures in this season’s Emirates FA Cup," according to a statement from the FA.

"By making in-stadium VAR announcements, match officials will also continue to give viewers and spectators better clarity and comprehension of the ultimate judgment on any reviewed incidents.

"Semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) will be in place for the three quarter-finals taking place at Premier League stadiums, as well as the semi-finals and final at Wembley Stadium connected by EE."

The competition's last eight features three all-Premier League matches, and Championship team Preston will host Aston Villa.
