Analyzing Julian Nagelsmann's Tactical Evolution: How Germany's New Style Could Shape Their World Cup Journey

As the football world turns its attention toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, few storylines are as compelling as the tactical transformation of Germany under Julian Nagelsmann. Once criticized for stagnation and predictability, the German national team now appears to be undergoing a profound stylistic shift—one that blends modern positional play, fluid attacking structures, and aggressive pressing schemes. The March 2026 international friendlies against Switzerland and Ghana are not merely preparatory fixtures; they are a tactical laboratory where Nagelsmann is actively refining Germany’s identity ahead of the global stage. These matches come at a crucial juncture. Germany, a nation with a proud footballing legacy, has endured back-to-back group-stage eliminations in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Now, with a new generation of talent and a forward-thinking coach at the helm, there is a sense that something fundamentally different is emerging. The March friendlies offer a window into that t...

Tottenham may look to replace Cristian Romero with PSG's flop signing this summer.

Milan Skriniar's future at Paris Saint-Germain is likely to be finished after the former Inter Milan star signed on loan to Fenerbahçe SK during the winter transfer window to conclude the season 2024-25.

After his contract with Inter Milan expired, the veteran became a free agent and signed with PSG. The 29-year-old Slovakia international has signed a contract with the Ligue 1 winners until 2028.

Skriniar was a regular starter last season, but is no longer in Luis Enrique's plans. He made 37 appearances for Enrique. Skriniar's loan at Fenerbahçe does not include a permanent transfer option, and PSG is likely to sell him in the summer.

Could Tottenham Hotspur rekindle their interest in Milan Skriniar?

The summer transfer window is still a few months away, but the rumor mill and teams are already strategizing their offseason plans.

Tottenham Hotspur will need to strengthen their backline, and Milan Skriniar is once again connected with the English club after being a target during the winter transfer window.

According to Fichajes (h/t GOAL), Tottenham have apparently added Milan Skriniar to their list of prospective defensive targets. With Cristian Romero's future unknown, Spurs are looking for an experienced, reliable defender.

Skriniar's experience in the Champions League and Serie A makes him a good fit for the London club. Tottenham are interested in other players than only Skriniar.

Other defenders being monitored are Jonathan Tah, Dean Huijsen, Marc Guehi, and Jarrad Branthwaite. Still, Spurs' rising interest in Skriniar, along with their financial resources, could give them an advantage in the competition.

Didier Deschamps plans to discuss France captaincy with Kylian Mbappé, as Ibrahima Konaté's popularity rises.

Will Kylian Mbappé (25) keep his position as France captain in 2025? It remains to be seen, given the Real Madrid striker's absences from the previous two international holidays with Les Bleus. According to L'Equipe, Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps will confront the former PSG forward about his desire to continue wearing the captain's armband. The manager, a former France captain, reportedly wants to know if Mbappé feels the captaincy is too much for him to bear, and if wearing the captain's armband affects his time with his France teammates. According to the source, Deschamps is aware of speculations that Mbappé has considering retiring as France's captain. If Mbappé expresses his desire to remain France captain, there is little reason to suppose Deschamps will relinquish him of his captaincy duties. However, if Mbappé expresses his desire to resign his position, Deschamps will select another captain. Mbappé's successor is projected to be one of Aurélien Tcho...
