Marc-Andre ter Stegen plans to speak with Hansi Flick if he feels pleased about Barcelona's comeback.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the Barcelona goalkeeper, appears to be nearing the end of his recovery after damaging ligaments in his knee in September. After an operation and six months of recuperation, ter Stegen just resumed training with the rest of the club, raising the issue of whether he will play again this summer. The 32-year-old is the club captain and has been the undisputed number one for some time, but after a lengthy injury and with Barcelona in the midst of the title race, the Copa del Rey final, and the Champions League, there are understandable doubts about whether it is the right time to change goalkeepers. Furthermore, Barcelona is yet to taste loss since adding Wojciech Szczesny as an injury replacement. Despite a rocky start, the Polish veteran has performed admirably. "Only one goalkeeper can play," ter Stegen told Sport, laughing, after the 'Gentleman's Day' award ceremony. He went on to say he will talk to manager Hansi Flick about a possi...

According to Slot, Tarkowski's challenge during Liverpool's victory against Everton may have caused Mac Allister to sustain significant injuries.

James Tarkowski should have been sent out for a "obvious" red card challenge on Alexis Mac Allister, according to Liverpool manager Arne Slot.

In the first half of the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton, which Liverpool won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Diogo Jota, Tarkowski slid in to recover the ball but caught Mac Allister on the follow through with his studs.

However, Slot was taken aback by the decision to allow Tarkowski to stay on the field.

When questioned about Mac Allister's health, Slot responded, "He continued to play, so I assume he's okay."

Because he is from South America, he is accustomed to something similar.

However, I believe that everyone has mentioned it, so why should I add anything more? I don't need to say anything because it's so clear.

"I would rather discuss Diogo's goal, Curtis Jones' performance, or something else than the incident, but everyone else did."

Slot said, "It could have been but it wasn't fortunately and he was lucky with that," in response to the question of whether his midfield player had suffered a major injury.

Slot claims he was thrilled to see the Portugal international score the game-winning goal against rivals Everton. Jota hadn't scored in the Premier League since January.

He remarked, "It was a great goal."

"It was also good to see that, in accordance with the rules, it was a goal when I was just in my room, so nobody could complain about that."

Although there are always doubts about a goal, the good news is that we have guidelines that tell us it's a clear one.

We want to have the finest season possible, and Everton demonstrated today just how hard it is to win a Premier League football match.

"We are in a very good position as long as the players and fans give as much as they did today, even though we know we will face eight very difficult challenges."

Thierry Henry was denied a joyful homecoming as France was defeated by gold medal winners Spain.

Exactly 36 years after Vinnie Jones, Dave Beasant, Lawrie Sanchez, and others ripped up the rulebook to propel Bobby Gould's Wimbledon to a storied FA Cup victory, Thierry Henry's France fell agonisingly short of capturing an emotional Olympic gold medal in front of a sold-out Parc des Princes in Paris. Henry, who gave his young French team the nickname the 'Crazy Ones' due to their fun-loving nature, won nearly everything as a player, and despite the stars appearing to align for a historic gold medal on home turf, the Arsenal legend was overshadowed by Santi Denia's slick Spaniards in a dramatic 5-3 extra-time defeat. Sergio Camello of Rayo Vallecano was their unexpected late nemesis, dunking French goalkeeper Guillaume Restes with 100 minutes on the clock to startle a stunned capacity crowd. And he delivered a virtual carbon copy of that finish with the game's final kick, charging in on goal as the French flung bodies forward to slot past Restes and cruelly ...
