England striker becomes one of the most significant Saudi Arabian deals this summer.
Ivan Toney has left Brentford to join Saudi club Al Ahli in a deal potentially up to £40 million. The England striker accepted personal terms with the club a few days ago, but was awaiting approval as the two teams worked out a cost.
That came early on deadline day, and Toney was soon off to London for a physical before his planned trip to Saudi Arabia.
The last elements of his move were worked out on deadline day, and he is now scheduled to go to the Middle East, marking the end of his stint at Brentford.
He has been kept out of all of their matchday squads this season as discussions of a move to Al Ahli continue.
Toney joined the Bees in 2020, while they were still in the Championship. He joined after spending two years at Peterborough.
Brentford were aware of Toney's wish to go in both January and this summer, but had to accept conditions lower than their £50 million assessment of the 28-year-old in order to agree on his departure.
Al Ahli's initial approach of £25 million was rejected by the Bees just over a fortnight ago, but the Saudi side was always anticipated to return with a better offer.

Toney, who had previously received interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United, played for England at Euro 2024, making three cameo appearances, including the final defeat to Spain.
On deadline day, Al Ahli reached an agreement with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, but the Saudi club could only afford to complete one transaction, thus Toney was signed instead of the Nigerian.
