Mohamed Salah gives shocking update on Liverpool's future ahead of Man United match: 'This is my final year'.

Salah is now free to negotiate a pre-contract deal to join a foreign team this summer.

Mohamed Salah has claimed that this will be his "last year" at Liverpool, adding to his incentive to win a second Premier League title.

The Egyptian is out of contract at the end of the season and has regularly expressed his disappointment that no movement has been made toward a new contract.

Despite the ongoing drama, Salah has been in phenomenal form, with 17 Premier League goals and 13 assists to his name, helping Liverpool lead the way domestically and in Europe.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Liverpool's match against Manchester United on Sunday, Salah said that for the first time this season, his desire to win the Premier League outweighs his desire for Champions League success.

"Probably because we didn't celebrate the one we won with the club the way we wanted," the Egyptian said, citing lockdown limitations that prevented Liverpool fans from joining them in celebrating the 2019/20 title.

"And, coming back here, this is my final year in the club, so you want to do something special for the city. That's what was on my mind."

When asked if he truly believes this will be his final season at Liverpool, Salah replied, "So far, yeah, the last six months. There is no progress, and we are a long way from making any. So we just have to wait and see.

"The question in my mind is, if it's your last six months or year, what do you want to see in the future? Do you want to look back and say I was worried about the contract or stressed? I just want to express that I had an incredible season.

"That's in my brain right now. When I feel sidetracked, I tell myself that I want to look back and say I had an incredible season. That is what I want to do.
